Scientist
Shivangi Mishra
Lab Name : Metabolic Engineering and Synthetic Biology Lab
- shivangi@cvjsynbio.org , shivangi@cvjsynbio.org
My research lies at the intersection of systems & synthetic biology and metabolic engineering, with a focus on designing microbial systems for sustainable biomanufacturing. I obtained an M.Sc (Biotechnology) and PhD from School of Biotechnology, Banaras Hindu University. During my PhD, working with Prof. Anil Kumar Tripathi, I was primarily working on understanding Systems biology of the microbe Azospirillum brasilense and engineering this microbe to produce value-added molecules. My post-doctoral work was at the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison with Prof. Brian Pfleger, where I developed strains to produce industrially relevant oleochemicals and novel bioplastics.
