October 2024
Date: October 22, 2024
Location: Department of Biotechnology, CUSAT, Kalamassery, Kochi
Details: This event highlights cutting-edge research at the intersection of biochemistry and synthetic biology, showcasing innovations that bridge molecular mechanisms with therapeutic and biotechnological advancements. The first talk explores the role of natriuretic peptides, crucial regulators of cardiovascular homeostasis, in developing personalized therapies for patients with acute heart failure. In the second talk, we will delve into the discovery and optimization of native biosynthetic pathways, unlocking their potential for synthetic biology applications. By repurposing nature’s biochemical systems, the talk aims to demonstrate the creation of new therapeutic and biomanufacturing platforms to address critical human health challenges.
September 2024
Date: September 12-14, 2024

Location: Hall no. 5, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi

Details:Global Bio-India 2024 is a mega international congregation of biotechnology
stakeholders, including international bodies, regulatory bodies, central and state
ministries, SMEs, large industries, bioclusters, research institutes, investors, and
the startup ecosystem. This annual event is organized by the Biotechnology
Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), a Public Sector Undertaking
under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) - Ministry of Science and
Technology, Government of India showcasing India’s Biotech growth and
 opportunities to the world.
Organizers: US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine
Date: September 9-12, 2024

Location: INSA Auditorium (Co-Chairs: Pawan K Dhar, Michele Garfinkel)

Details:The primary goal of this workshop series is to identify short-, medium-, and long-
term opportunities for U.S.- India biotechnology cooperation consistent with the
initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET) and beyond. To
accomplish this goal, workshop participants will discuss areas of bilateral
cooperation. For example, genomics, synthetic biology, biomanufacturing,
protection of critical biotechnology data and information, knowledge exchange on
relevant safety and security practices, toward developing efficient, effective and
harmonized regulatory approaches across a diversity of relevant sectors will be
among the areas for enhanced cooperation considered.
